Candice and Mike are heading back home to Reno after spending Christmas in Las Vegas. For the first time in decades, Las Vegas had recordable snowfall! It was also the first time the two got to see each other in weeks after Mike had been traveling to Pennsylvania and Ohio, and Candice to California.Holidays with the family always has a special meaning, but this year so much more so. It was our first Christmas after springing up some surprising news of getting (legally) hitched! And due to our interviewing schedule, we weren't able to get the gifts we wish we could for everyone (Have you seen our blog on where the funds are going? Check it out here!). It made us concentrate more on what matters most-- being together with family, cooking to feed our bellies and our hearts, and seeing the joy on the kids' faces as they open what Santa has brought for them!
This was one of the best holidays, as everyone was so happy and joyful, just like Christmas should be! Other highlights of our trip:
- Dinner with Mark and Meka at Little Buddha
- Kobe beef carpaccio and surf and turf, all courtesy of Executive Chef Gregg!
- Mike's birthday presents from Candice's wishpot! (hahaha)
- Mike's new suit... he looks sharp!
- Our good karma shopping day :)
- 73 inches... 'nuff said.
- And of course, catching up with everybody. We miss you all already!
