UNR vs Utah

Went to the UNR Homecoming football game with Ranna today! We competed against Utah State, and we were kicking arse by halftime (20-7), but apparently the Aggies fought back during the second half, but in the end, the Wolf Pack still came out victorious (31-28)!

The picture above? Allow me to explain. We had to pull some sneaky maneuvers just so that I could sit in the student section. Jeebus. Ranna worked hard for the dumb orange wristband! In any case, we sat in the student section to join Ranna's friends, and cousin Dana!

Candice learned that she has to be ready (walking shoes, for sure!) for the entire day when outing with Ranna banana. We ended up going to the Wine Walk and dining at Silver Peak. Candice called it quits pretty early in the evening, Ranna went on to spend the night out on the town!

...And now, it's update time!

1. We went scouting for wedding sites around Lake Tahoe. We saw some pretty gorgeous places. And expensive. Really, really, ridiculously expensive. And then we stopped into Gar Woods, a great and reputable restaurant in Carnelian Bay whose theme is centered around the wooden boats frequently seen around Lake Tahoe. Save the date (with pencil maybe, as pen might just be a little too permanent!) for Saturday, May 16th, 2009!

2. In the same spirit of motivation to search for sites, Candice has started a wedding site that will contain details about the ceremony and reception. Check it out at http://www.eWedding.com/sites/thefortunatos/!

3. Mike's surviving in Chi-town. We're counting down the days when we can all have a couple of play days in the big city!

4. Just a couple days 'til Candice goes to Las Vegas for multiple baptisms and quick catch-ups!

5. It was Stubbs' 7th birthday a couple days ago. We still miss him so much. Candice lit a candle in a big chunk of cheese (his fave) and sang happy birthday. *Sigh*

I end this blog with a couple of pictures of beautiful Lake Tahoe, where we cannot wait to celebrate our next big day with friends and family. That, and a reminder to get out there and VOTE!
