Chicago (Day 3)

Today, Gina and Levi flew in from Las Vegas to celebrate Levi's 10-year mark with Bertolini's!

Mike and Candice spent the morning before the pair arrived shopping for some new threads at H&M (our 2nd visit in 3 days!). After they arrived, they checked into their hotel, and we were off to eat dinner at Carmine's (an Italian restaurant in the Gold Coast area of Chicago) and to check out a show. The show, called a Cabaret of Desire, was nothing like Mike and Candice had ever seen before. It was centered on the lost art of puppeteering, and though I couldn't make much of the plot, and Mike just thought it was a little too creepy (with talking dolls and old music), I thought the creator, Blair Thomas, and his crew were all very talented. They injected life into inanimate objects, they used props in very creative ways, and I did at least exit the show with an appreciation of the artform.

After the show, we walked around the Loop, just wanting to find a bar to relax and have a couple of drinks. There were some very cool jazz bars, but with the city being as pricey as it is, we didn't want to part with extra funds for table fees and cover charges. We settled at Luxbar, which was a pretty fancy bar, had a couple drinks and called it a night!
